I pass the Sue Ryder charity shop in Camden every day, and often buy homewares and clothes in there. I also donate a lot of my things to them: most recently five binliners of summer clothes and accessories.
As a charity, they do extraordinary work, but they need to raise £37.7m a year to keep their services running, which provide incredible hospice and neurological care for people facing a frightening, life-changing diagnosis. It’s a charity which is close to my heart, as my sister has MS (Multiple Sclerosis.)

So I volunteered to style the shop windows for them this week, to highlight the excellent standard of donations they receive for both men and women, to give a nod to festival season, and to give the windows a Camden feel showcasing vintage clothing and music.

Remy, Lettice and I spent a very enjoyable afternoon yesterday, rummaging through the rails and back sorting office to pull together six looks for both windows, using everything from gold sequin knickers to lace skirts. We even found a pair of pale pink Manolos.
Sue Ryder don’t just provide expert medical care (2.7 million hours of care to thousands of people every year), it’s the emotional support and practical things that they take care of too. Sue Ryder do whatever they can to be a safety net for their patients and their loved ones at the most difficult time of their lives.
Not only do they treat more conditions than any other UK charity in their hospices, neurological care centres and out in the community; they also campaign to improve the lives of people living with them. They see the person, not the condition, taking time to understand the small things that help that person live
the fullest life they can.
the fullest life they can.
If you are in Camden any time soon, do check the store out.
